Photograph the fish
Lay the catch flat on the ground, a dock or a mat. Point the camera down. The app finds the fish and reads its length off the image in real time.
Confirm the species
An on-device model ranks the most likely species from the photo. Tap to confirm, or pick from the full library if it guessed wrong.
Watch the board move
Pick the tournaments you want the fish to count for. Standings update within seconds, and everyone else sees exactly what you submitted.

On iPhones with LiDAR, Fish Masters Live uses ARKit plane detection to measure the fish against the real surface it is lying on — and it will not let you capture until all four corners of the measurement sit on the same flat plane. That is what makes the number defensible.

Weekly Bags
One species, five-fish bag, longest total length wins. When your bag is full, a bigger fish automatically culls your smallest.
Slams
Multiple species, best fish of each counts. The Southeast Salty Slam wants a redfish, a seatrout and a snook. The Freshwater Slam wants bass, crappie and bluegill.
Series
Longer-running boards across a species group — Bass Master Series, Panfish Master Series — for anglers who want a season, not a week.
Custom
Make your own. Pick the species, the dates, the bag limit, and draw a boundary on the map so only fish caught inside it count. Invite your followers or your buddies.

Is Fish Masters Live free?
Yes. Downloading the app and competing in tournaments is free. There are optional subscription tiers that unlock extras like your full personal fishing log, weather data on every catch, custom tournaments and a 2x XP multiplier — and those are sold only through the App Store, not on this website.
Do I need an expensive phone?
No. The most precise measurement uses the LiDAR sensor on Pro-model iPhones, but the app measures from the image on any supported device. What matters far more is laying the fish flat on a clean surface and keeping the camera square to it.
How do you stop people from cheating?
Three layers. The measurement is read off the actual scene rather than typed in by the angler. The species is identified on-device from the same photo. And every submission is visible to everyone else in the tournament and can be reported and reviewed by a moderator, who can adjust a measurement or disqualify an entry.
Do I have to keep the fish?
Never. Fish Masters Live is built entirely around catch, measure and release. There is no weigh-in, no livewell, and no reason for the fish to leave the water for more than a few seconds. Every species guide on this site includes handling notes for exactly that reason.
Where can I compete?
Anywhere in the United States or Canada. Weekly tournaments are nationwide, and custom tournaments let you draw a geographic boundary — a state, a region, a circle around a lake, or a shape you draw yourself — so only fish caught inside it count.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. Fish Masters Live is on iOS today and Android is in progress. The Google Play badge on this site will go live the day the app ships.
